Mandated Reporter Training

DDS Mandated Reporter Training is focused on adults.  The Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) investigates claims of abuse against adults with disabilities, aged 18 to 59. Complaints about children up to 17 are handled by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) while individuals aged 60 and older fall under the jurisdiction of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Many DDS service recipients are 60 years and above.

If you're a reporter, and unsure about the alleged victim’s name or if the situation qualifies as abuse, the recommended practice for reporting any abuse against a person with a disability is to contact the Disabled Person's Protection Commission. When your report falls outside DPPC's jurisdiction, they will gather the details and forward the report to the relevant agency.
